Concealment Express IWB Kydex Holster – Best IWB Holster

Concealment Express IWB KYDEX Holster fits Sig Sauer P365 | Right | Carbon Fiber Black

Let’s start with one of my favorite holsters of all time, the Concealment Express IWB Kydex Holster.

It’s a pretty simple IWB holster, but it does everything you need and does those things well without any unnecessary bells and whistles.

As the name suggests, it’s made of Kydex, so it’s durable and does a good job protecting your weapon. The Kydex is only .08 inches thick, so it’s a low-profile holster. It weighs just 3 ounces.

Like most Kydex holsters, this one features passive retention and allows you to adjust the level of friction. There’s an audible click when the retention system kicks in as you holster your pistol, so you know when it’s secure.

Other adjustable features include the holster’s cant, which can go from -5° to 20°.

When it’s time to draw your weapon, the undercut trigger guard gives you a surface to push against, making drawing easier while also completely covering the gun’s trigger while holstered.

The Concealment Express IWB Kydex Holster can be used in several carry positions, including strong side, cross draw, hip, back, and appendix carry. It attaches to the waistband using a 1.5-inch fiber-reinforced belt clip.

Pros

  • Low profile and lightweight
  • Durable
  • Adjustable cant and retention
  • Overcut open face and accommodates suppressor height sights
  • Compatible with the Concealment Express Holster Claw Kit to further reduce printing

Cons

  • Like many Kydex holsters, this one isn’t always the most comfortable.

ComfortTac Ultimate Belly Band Holster – Best Belly Band

Belly Band Holster for Men and Women - Gun Holster by ComfortTac, Fits Smith and Wesson, Shield, Glock 19, 17, 42, 43, P238, Ruger LCP, and Similar Guns for Most Pistols and Revolvers

Belly bands are an excellent alternative to IWB holsters for those who find IWB holsters uncomfortable or wear clothes that aren’t supportive enough for IWB holsters, like gym shorts or sweatpants.

The ComfortTac Ultimate Belly Band Holster holds your pistol in an elastic pouch. That pouch has a retention strap with a snap closure. But it’s not just useful for retention. The snap is surrounded by leather, which provides reinforcement for durability reinforcement and acts as trigger protection when the strap is closed.

I wear the ComfortTac Ultimate Belly Band because it is made from stretchy material that wraps around my torso comfortably. It uses the body as a source of support, and it’s got a perforated neoprene band, which is far more breathable than most other belly bands, so I don’t get that swampy feeling underneath it, even when running on hot days. This is one of my favorite things about this belly band since a lack of proper trigger coverage is unfortunately very common among belly bands.

In addition to the holster itself, this belly band has a removable spare mag pouch and an additional pocket for storing small items.

Pros

  • Allows for versatile carry positions
  • Good trigger coverage
  • Available in two sizes and two colors
  • Additional storage for a spare magazine and small items
  • Comfortable and breathable

Cons

  • Best suited for thin people

DeSantis Nemesis Pocket Holster – Best Pocket Holster

DeSantis Nemesis Pocket Holster for Pistols, Ambidextrous, Unisex Gun Holster, Made Tacky Material, Fits SIG P365, SIG P365 XL, SIG P365 SAS, SIG P365 with Manual Safety, Black

When it comes to pocket carry, the DeSantis Nemesis Pocket Holster is my favorite. One of the main advantages of the P365 is its small size, which also gives you some holster options that aren’t available for larger handguns, like pocket carry.

It’s a simple little holster that fits neatly in the right or left front pocket thanks to its ambidextrous design. It’s low profile and flexible, so it’s very comfortable while providing full trigger coverage. It’s also sweatproof.

The inside of the holster is soft and smooth for an easy draw. The outside of the holster has a grippy texture so that it stays securely inside your pocket when you draw, regardless of movement. It’s cut away around the grip, making it easy to get a positive grip on your gun without fumbling around in your pocket when the pressure is on.

The holster is also foam-padded. This provides extra protection for your P365, but its primary function is to help avoid printing.

Pros

  • Ambidextrous
  • Grippy exterior and smooth interior
  • Foam padding
  • Sweatproof
  • Flexible and slender

Cons

  • Won’t fit smaller pockets

Crossbreed SnapSlide OWB Holster – Best OWB Holster

Crossbreed SnapSlide OWB Holster

My pick for the best OWB Holster for the SIG P365 is the Crossbreed SnapSlide OWB Holster.

Most people who carry the SIG P365 probably plan to concealed carry, not open carry, so OWB holsters aren’t as popular. Still, OWBs are a classic holster style, and we’d be remiss not to include at least one OWB holster on this list.

Crossbreed specializes in hybrid holsters, combining Kydex shells with leather backings. The result is a holster that offers excellent protection for your weapon while providing soft, flexible comfort.

The SnapSlide’s belt slide design keeps it close to your body. The SnapSlide also situates the pistol higher up than most OWB holsters do. This combination of features makes the SnapSlide much easier to conceal than most other OWB holsters.

It’s intended to be worn on your strong side, behind your hip. It works best with 1.25-inch or 1.5-inch belts.

Pros

  • Very concealable relative to other OWB holsters
  • Balances comfort and protection of your weapon
  • Works with most belts

Cons

  • Not very concealable relative to non-OWB options
  • A bit pricey for a holster

Alien Gear ShapeShift Modular Holster System – Best Holster System

Alien Gear Shapeshift 4 in 1 Holster - IWB, Appendix, OWB Paddle, and OWB Belt Slide Included - Concealed and Open Carry - Tuckable - Left Hand Draw - Sig P365

The Alien Gear ShapeShift is slightly different from our other recommendations because it’s not a single holster. Instead, it’s a modular holster system.

What does this mean?

The ShapeShift system allows you to use different holster shells with the same holster and the same holster with different holster shells.

So, for example, you can use a single shell for your P365 and use it with an appendix holster, ankle holster, shoulder holster, and more. If you wanted to use those holsters for a different firearm, such as a P226, all you’d need to do is get the correct shell for that weapon.

If you’re the sort of person who likes to have various carry options in terms of weapons, holsters, or both, then the ShapeShift system is a great way to save money and storage space.

To get started, I suggest the ShapeShift Core Kit. This kit includes four ShapeShift holsters: the IWB holster, appendix carry holster, OWB belt slide, and OWB paddle holster. The savings for buying all those holsters in a single kit are extensive.

Once you’ve got your P365 shell and are ready to expand, you must browse Alien Gear’s ShapeShift Expansion Packs for even more holster options.

Pros

  • Incredibly versatile
  • Made from durable polymer
  • Cost-effective and space-effective compared to buying a bunch of individual holsters
  • A Forever Warranty covers all parts

Cons

  • Overly complicated for people who carry the same weapon and holster every day

Bravo Concealment Torsion 3.0

Bravo Concealment Torsion 3.0

If you’re after deep concealment, the Bravo Concealment Torsion 3.0 is one of the best available options today. It uses two belt clips, though you can remove one if you want and tuck your shirt over the gun for deeper concealment. That, of course, means a slower draw, but that’s up to shooter preference.

The holster does draw exceptionally well, which does help to offset having to untuck your shirt quickly when it’s in single clip mode. You can tell the folks at Bravo Concealment carry guns regularly and put a lot of thought into their holster design!

The body of the holster is made from a very thin but rigid polymer, so it adds very little weight or bulk, unlike a leather holster body. It has adjustable cant and retention strength to help you dial things into how you like it for both carry position and your draw.

Finally, it has clearance for suppressor-height sights or bulkier night sights and even has room for a threaded barrel if you have one of those versions of the P365 that you want to carry around. It can also accommodate a red dot, so you can use an optics-ready version of the P365 if you wish.

Pros

  • Very concealable, primarily when used with a single clip
  • A very thin holster body is easy to conceal and comfortable.
  • Works with a red dot or threaded barrel

Cons

  • Only available in a right-handed version
  • Doesn’t keep your weapon very accessible when worn in the single clip configuration

CYTAC SIG P365 OWB Holster

Sig P365, OWB Holster for Sig Sauer P365 Micro-Compact 9mm / P365 XL / P365 SAS - Index Finger Released | Adjust. Cant | Autolock | Outside Waistband | Silicone Pad Paddle | Matte Finish -RH

Cytac is an excellent option for anyone looking for a budget-friendly holster, and they also have a great option for P365 owners. We’ve chosen the OWB version here, but they also have an IWB version.

It’s a classic paddle-style holster that doesn’t require a belt, making this one of our favorite holsters that you can slip on quickly, even in sweatpants (provided they’re tied securely).

The paddle does have notches to fit under a gun belt to keep the whole rig much more secure. If you’re looking for that carry, just keep in mind that it is an outside-the-shoulder holster. If you’re in an open carry state or don’t mind wearing a long shirt or jacket to cover it, that’s not an issue.

The holster is made of a lightweight polymer to stop it from weighing down your pants too much, and of course, plastic is inert when it comes to water and sweat, so you don’t have to oil it or worry about it staining from your skin oils or sweat.

This holster also has active retention, making it a great little duty-style holster, even if the P365 doesn’t precisely scream “duty gun.” Still, if that’s what you’re used to at work, this is a great pistol to come home to when you have to leave your work gun in a locker somewhere.

Finally, it has completely adjustable can’t, so you can adjust your carry and draw angle to whatever you want, which is excellent for those who are a bit picky about our draw and how we have our pistol angled.

Pros

  • Comfortable outside the waistband option
  • You don’t need a belt
  • One of the lightest holsters on this list

Cons

  • OWB design isn’t great for concealment

DeSantis Die Hard Ankle Rig

DeSantis Gunhide Holsters Die Hard Ankle Rig, Right, Black, FITS: SIG P365, SIG P365 SAS, SIG P365 Manual Safety

If you like the idea of an ankle holster, then the Desantis Die Hard (yes, that’s a John McClane reference) is the P365 holster for you. It’s a simple affair that uses a neoprene band to secure the holster to your leg and a molded saddle leather pocket to hold the P365 itself.

As the name might suggest, this is a holster designed for law enforcement, though probably not the NYPD. Still, it’s made for rough use and, unlike many ankle holsters, feels very secure and keeps the firearm relatively safe from dust and dirt.

The leather is PU coated for extra durability and water resistance, which is excellent in an ankle rig. A retention strap keeps the gun firmly in place until you deliberately pop the snap and disengage it.

This is not a quick-draw holster, but no ankle holster is, and the Die Hard rig comes with an additional calf strap that you can use to hold the whole thing more securely in place if you are worried about it sliding, especially when walking a lot.

The one thing to keep in mind is that the holster isn’t technically ambidextrous, though it is available in both left and right-hand versions, and you can absolutely draw with either hand from either holster style. It just might take an extra second to draw from the right-hand version with your left hand and vice versa.

Finally, the band is thickly padded with comfortable, semi-breathable foam and is wrapped in sheepskin so it won’t rub or chafe.

Pros

  • Very little chance of printing as long as you don’t cross your legs
  • Most comfortable ankle holster we’ve tested
  • Great construction and materials

Cons

  • Ankle holsters are hard to draw from quickly

Crossbreed Mini Tuck IWB

CrossBreed Holsters MiniTuck IWB Concealed Carry Holster

Next, we have one of my favorite holsters and one of the most comfortable that I’ve ever tested, the Crossbreed Mini Tuck IWB holster. It’s similar in design to the popular Alien Gear Cloak Tuck IWB holster but with some neat updates and changes to make it a little more comfortable.

It has a very small profile above the waistband, so there’s little risk of flashing unless you wear some thin, light-colored pants. Still, this is one of the best deep concealment holsters on this list, especially since it’s concealing such a small firearm overall.

The main body of the holster is a highly well-molded Kydex that grips the P365 securely enough that you won’t have to worry about it ever falling out even if you’re hanging upside down for some reason (hey whatever, we don’t judge).

The twin belt clips hold the holster close to your body and help spread the weight of the holstered gun from dragging your pants down. The panel against your body is curved to follow your waistline and is made of comfortable leather that is very soft to the touch.

That leather panel also extends above the slide and rear sights of the gun so that even with a red dot on an optics-ready P365, you won’t have any metal touching your body, making for an extremely comfortable carry experience especially at the 5 o’clock position.

Pros

  • Dual-clips distribute weight very well
  • It doesn’t require a belt with well-fitted pants
  • Extremely comfortable

Cons

  • It can seem bulky if you aren’t used to a dual-clip holster

Relentless Tactical The Defender Leather IWB Holster

Leather Holster for Glock 17 19 - Taurus G2C G3 G3C - M&P Shield EZ - Plus Similar Size IWB Left Hand Brown

If you’re a fan of leather over Kydex, then Relentless Tactical has you covered with their Defender Leather IWB holster. This holster is dead simple with a classic bull hide exterior that you can get in Midnight Black, Whiskey Barrel Brown, and Charred Oak.

Whichever color you choose, you’ll get a professionally-finished leather holster that is soft and comfortable to carry, even against bare skin.

If you often don’t like the hard edges and sharp corners of some Kydex holsters, then the Defender is a great option. The only metal is in the simple spring steel clip and the little bits of flush hardware holding everything together. Overall, it’s very comfortable.

There’s also something to be said for the durability and classic stylings of a good leather holster like this. If cowhide is your thing and you don’t want a leather+Kydex hybrid holster, this is an excellent option for an IWB holster, especially if you carry appendix style.

Finally, Relentless Tactical has matching mag pouches that you can purchase if you want to supplement the SIG P365’s already impressive capacity with an extra magazine or two on your hip.

Pros

  • Leather is softer and more comfortable than Kydex or nylon
  • Can fit other firearms
  • Great classic leather finish

Cons

  • Not form-fitted for the P365 specifically

Buying Guide

When purchasing a SIG P365 holster—or any holster really—there are a few things to keep in mind.

Holster Type & Carry Location

Holster Type & Carry Location

One of the most fundamental considerations when choosing a holster is how you want to carry it. There are many different holster types to choose from, each with its advantages and disadvantages.

The most popular type of holster is the IWB (inside waistband). These are convenient to access, generally easy to conceal, and tend to give you a variety of places around the waistband to choose from. On the other hand, it’s not typically the most comfortable, especially if you don’t wear an undershirt to provide a layer between the holster and your body.

A more comfortable alternative is the OWB (outside waistband) holster. Since it’s on the outside of your pants, it’s not pressed so much against your body. The downside of this is that OWB holsters are much trickier to conceal. That’s fine for open carry, but that’s probably not what you have the P365 for.

Of course, these are far from your only options. There are also ankle holsters, pocket holsters, shoulder holsters, and more.

Comfort

Don’t underestimate the importance of comfort when it comes to holsters.

Your holster shouldn’t poke, pinch, or rub you uncomfortably. It’s generally a good idea to wear a layer of clothing between your body and holster to make it more comfortable, especially if the holster is made from a rigid material like Kydex. Your holster definitely shouldn’t be uncomfortable through that clothing, though.

If a holster isn’t comfortable, you’re far less likely to use it, making it just a waste of space and money.

Trigger Coverage

Trigger Coverage

Now we get into essential safety features.

Having a holster that completely covers the trigger is essential. This prevents accidental discharge, not just for your safety but also for the safety of people around you.

Unfortunately, despite being such an important safety feature, some holsters don’t provide enough trigger protection, so you can’t just take it for granted when shopping. However, all of the holsters we recommend here keep the trigger covered.

Retention

Retention is another critical safety feature and simply refers to how the holster keeps the gun in place.

Retention falls into two different types, active retention and passive retention. Active retention holsters use a barrier, usually a snap strap, to block the firearm from coming out of the holster. Passive retention holsters rely on friction to keep your gun in place.

Whichever type of retention your holster uses, you should be able to turn your holster in any direction, even entirely upside down, and your P365 should stay securely inside your holster.

Positive Grip

Best Holsters for SIG P365 - Positive Grip

Next, your holster should position your P365 in such a way that allows for a positive grip.

What’s that mean?

Simply that your gun is positioned so that you can firmly grab and draw your gun in a ready-to-shoot position using just one hand.

This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t still expect to have to train with your weapon. Training is essential. However, you shouldn’t have to work around your holster regarding grip.

Durability

As with anything, you want your holster to be well made.

Fortunately, holsters tend to be inexpensive, so most of us can afford to invest a bit more for a more durable option. Also, fortunately, the most common holster materials—Kydex, leather, and nylon—are all very durable.

In fact, with many holsters, the hardware is the weak point for durability since it’s often made from steel, which can rust. Be sure to keep your holster clean and dry to protect the hardware.

Concealability

One of the main draws for subcompacts like the SIG P365 is how small, and therefore concealable, they are. Naturally, you want a holster that compliments this, especially if you’re looking for a holster for EDC.

(On the other hand, if you’re just getting a P365 for a range toy, you can skip this section).

One of the most significant factors for concealability is holster type, which we briefly addressed above. IWB holsters, shoulder holsters, and belly bands are typically the most concealable. However, since the P365 is so small, you get many more options. Ankle holsters, pocket holsters, and even OWB holsters can also be great. For those that wear skirts, dresses, or kilts, even a thigh holster is a reasonable option for the P365.

Whichever holster style you choose, look for a low-profile holster that doesn’t add a lot of bulk. Features that help break up printing, like claws and padding, are also helpful for concealability.

FAQs

Can I carry the SIG P365 in my pocket?

The SIG P365 is small enough to fit in most men’s pockets for carrying. Women will likely have a more challenging time due to the smaller pockets on women’s garments.

Regardless, firearms kept in pockets should always be carried in a pocket holster, never loose. Carrying a gun in your pocket is incredibly unsafe because it offers no trigger protection, making accidental discharge far too easy.

For pocket carry, we recommend the DeSantis Nemesis Pocket Holster.

Which pistol is more reliable: the SIG P365 or the Glock 43?

While early P365s had some significant issues, SIG halted production, fixed the old guns, and adjusted the gun’s design for new production. These days, I’d say that the SIG P365 and Glock 43 are on the same level in terms of reliability,

Do Navy SEALs carry the SIG P365?

Navy SEALs do not carry the SIG P365. They carry the P226, which may be a source of confusion, but the two pistols are very different. That’s about to be null since the next generation of SEAL pistols will be made by Glock.

Parting Thoughts

The SIG P365 is a great gun, and if you pick up one of the holsters off this list, you’ll be able to get the most out of carrying it. Our top pick is still the Concealment Express Kydex IWB holster because it’s the most likely to work with any body type and carries and conceals well.

That said, any of the holsters on this list could work better for you depending on your own needs and preferences, so if at all possible, order them off Amazon, so you can return them if they don’t work out for you quite the way you want them to.

Whichever one you go with, we hope you enjoy your P365, and we know you’ll get years and years of use out of it with the right holster.
