1. The Magpul Two Point MS

best 2 point sling

Magpul makes everything in the gun world. They started with some odd little additions to your magazines that made it easier to retrieve a mag from a mag pouch. From there, they went to magazines, stocks, accessories, and more. These days they are providing us professional-grade gun slings.

The Magpul Two Point MS sling is their simple but efficient model that functions as an excellent carbine or rifle sling. In all honesty, it’s open to being used on any kind of long gun. The Magpul Two Point MS features the new MS1 slider that allows for quick adjusts.

These adjustments can be made on the fly. This allows you to tighten the weapon down, so it’s not hanging while doing dynamic movements, like climbing, running, or jumping. You can run the sling loose to have freedom of movement and to shoot around, over, or undercover.

2. Blue Force Gear Vickers Sling

best ar 15 2 point sling

Blue Force Gear and their Vickers slings are solely responsible for the return of the two-point sling and the recent trend of newer, more advanced slings. The Vickers is designed by Delta Force soldier Larry Vickers and produced by BFG. This two-point sling has been widely adopted across the armed forces and purchased by every branch of the military.

The Vickers sling will accommodate ARs, AKs, and similar rifle systems. I even keep one on one of my shotguns. It runs brilliantly. The Vickers sling has a quick-adjust pull tab that allows you to run the sling tight or loosen it up with just a quick pull.

The Vickers sling is incredibly strong. I’ve used one for almost a decade now. It remains an incredibly strong, durable piece of gear. It has yet to fray or fail. The worst that’s happened is some slight fading of the labels.

The Vickers Blue Force Gear Sling is very comfortable and supportive. It’s 1.25 inches wide and compatible with almost all gun sling hardware. The Vickers is an excellent choice for tactical use, competition, and even hunting.

Viking Tactics is a company owned and operated by Kyle Lamb, another former Delta Force member. Viking Tactics is a training and gear organization that has produced some very impressive stuff. Their padded sling system stands out quite a bit.

The Viking Tactics two-point sling has a wide, solid pad that allows for increased comfort when carrying rifles, especially heavy rifles. The VTAC sling has metal hardware that is incredibly strong. It will last near forever and is perfect for heavier rifles.

When you step up to a full-powered cartridge like the 308 or 6.5 Creedmoor, your rifle is most assuredly going to be a bit heavier. Heavier rifles need stronger slings. The VTAC padded sling is one helluva strong sling.

The Viking Tactics sling also has a textured rubber pull tab that allows for quick manipulations to tighten or loosen the sling. This makes it easy to transition between tight and loose, which is perfect when going from wearing armor to running slick.

The pad makes toting the rifle comfortable and easy, especially when you are moving up and down hills or rough terrain. That added shoulder pad makes a big difference with a heavy weapon. The difference is readily apparent.

The Condor Speedy 2 Point is a very affordable sling option and offers a wide variety of different features that are common on most tactical slings. This includes an adjuster tongue that allows for rapid transitioning to both tighten and loosen the sling on demand.

The Condor Speedy 2 Point sling is 1/25 inches wide and hits most of the main necessities of a 2-point tactical sling. However, it doesn’t provide the same reputation or quality that is offered by a Vickers, Troy, or Magpul sling.

It’s a useful tool that’s handy for rifles used for tamer purposes. I wouldn’t take it to war, but I’d go hunting with it, take it to the range, or just run it on my hobby guns. The Condor Speedy 2 Point sling is remarkably affordable while retaining similar tactical designs.

6. Magpul RLS

best two point sling

So far, we’ve been focusing on tactical slings, but we know there are a ton of different purposes for guns out there. This includes hunting, competition shooting, or just general gun use. The Magpul RLS is a simple sling and is designed for non-tactical purposes.

The Magpul RLS is a simple sling system that acts like the old school green military two-point issued as far back as World War 2. The RLS is a much more modern take on that sling and is made of modern materials with modern sling catches and attachment options.

RLS stands for Rifleman Loop Sling. The standard design does allow you to use the sling as a shooting aid. If you’ve ever learned how to take advantage of a traditional loop sling, then you’ll recognize the usefulness of the RLS.

The Magpul RLS two-point sling uses Magpul’s proprietary nylon mesh webbing and Magpul polymer hardware. Magpul is well known for its high-quality gear. The RLS is no different.

The 1.25-inch wide sling material is chafe resistant. It uses tubular construction to dull the edges that rub and snag. This prevents pain and irritation while you are moving, hiking, climbing, and shooting.

Best of all, the RLS sling is incredibly affordable and well made. It keeps up with tradition while improving upon it.

7. Blackhawk Shotgun Sling

best ar 15 2 point sling

Blackhawk makes just about everything there is for guns from holsters to slings, they make it all. The Blackhawk Shotgun sling is a two-point sling designed to give shotgun wielders a wide and strong sling as well as a little extra ammo. That extra width helps support heavier weapons while also making carrying the extra ammo easier. The Blackhawk Shotgun sling packs on 15 shells of 12-gauge ammunition. That’s a lot of 12-gauge ammo. It gives your shotgun a welcome reload or two.

The only downside is 15 rounds of 15 gauge is quite heavy. It can throw your weapon off balance. The Shotgun sling has steel hooks that attach easily to your weapon. The sling has a non-slip backing that allows the shotgun to grip to your body, keep everything in place, and leave your hands free.

best ar15 slings

The Blackhawk Shotgun sling adjusts easily and fits large men with armor all the way down to small women without armor. The sling gives you plenty of room to adjust and fit your body type. The simple nylon material provides high quality and lightweight but resists tearing and the elements.

Two points slings are better than one-point slings and three-point slings.

Modern two-point slings work wonders for supporting and protecting your weapon. They make sure you can shoot and move without worrying much about holding onto your rifle. You can climb ladders, scale fences, move in and out of vehicles all the while keeping your gun in place.

A two-point sling and a tactical rifle go hand in hand, but so does a two-point and a hunting shotgun or a bolt action rifle. Two points work on any long gun and have their place as the most supportive, versatile, and easy to use gun slings out there.
