7 Best Burris Scopes

1. Burris XTR II 4-20x50mm

burris scope reviews

The Burris XTR II 4-20x50mm is a part of Burris Optics’ tactical scope line of optics. With a magnification range of 4-20x and an objective lens diameter of 50mm there is no doubt this burris scope is built for long-distance shooters. Extreme precision at distance is hard to achieve for any shooter.

Long-range shots are better managed with the appropriate gear. The Burris XTR II is just the right piece of gear to ensure you stay dialed in no matter the distance. Offered in both MIL and MOA reticle platforms, either option is illuminated and offered in matte black. Offered with 11 brightness settings, offering a clear visible reticle in low light, daytime, and compatible with night vision.

There is a unique battery-saver position between each of the 11 brightness settings for quicker power-downs, and extending your battery life. Built off of solid one-piece construction of aluminum, the XTR II is nitrogen-filled and utilizes high-grade optical glass creating a waterproof, shockproof, and fog-proof burris scope.

Internally, the XTR II uses a triple spring-tension system allowing the burris scope to hold zero through shock, recoil, and vibrations. Paired with precision-gauged and hand-fitted internal assembly this scope maintains a consistent zero no matter the situation. Utilizing the first focal plane (FFP) design, the reticle size increases or decreases based on magnification.

Weighing in at 32.10 ounces the XTR II is 16.31 inches in length, and is most definitely built for mounting on a long rifle. The larger weight and size are not great for hunting applications, but the distance and clarity of this burris scope could lend themselves to hunting applications as well.

Designed for both tactical and competitive shooters, the XTR II is equipped with zero-click stop adjustment knobs allowing you to get back to your original yardage setting without having to count your clicks. Multi-Coated lenses improve your accuracy in low-light conditions and eliminate glare which is crucial on those long-yardage shots.

The XTR II features the Burris patented XT-100 click adjustment knobs that allow for 100 clicks per rotation, pushing most calibers past 1,000 yards in one full rotation. This generates easier calculations, quick adjustments, and is a huge time saver for long-range shooting. This is an impressive burris scope, and a great way to start our list.

2. Burris Eliminator III 4-16x50mm Laser Scope

burris rifle scopes reviews

With a name like Eliminator III Laser Scope, do I need to say anything else? I feel that the extremeness of this scope is built into the name. Offered in only X96 reticle type, this is a range finding capable rifle scope. For those who have not experienced a scope like this before, this scope mixes the efficiency of Burris Optic glass and a rangefinder.

In most situations, when hunting, you would find objects around your hunting spot to range to have an understanding of the yardage around you. Whatever animal you are hunting walks within the limits you have range found, you can adjust your burris scope and shoot. Another method, if you have time, is to range the animal itself then adjust your scope and shoot.

With the Burris Eliminator III Laser Scope, you press the side range button, and the reticle adjusts itself to the perfect magnification and range for you to take your shot. This may be a more efficient way to hunt, but be careful as some states do not allow you to hunt with range-finding scopes.

Burris knows the importance of saving every ounce when hunting and they created the Eliminator III to be lighter than the previously reviewed XTR II weighing in at 30.4 ounces which is 2 ounces lighter than the XTR II. The Eliminator III is also shorter in length than the XTR II and sits at 15.5 inches.

Complete with wind, incline, and heads-up display this burris scope is half computer and half optic. The idea behind Eliminator III is to offer hunters a larger range to make ethical shots. There is programming involved when using this burris scope, so it may not be for you if you are not a techy type of person. The offered programming only works with centerfire rifles so keep this in mind if your interests peak

The Eliminator III is a great tool for the modern-day hunter and can be found on Amazon for a great price. It is offered in a matte black aluminum body and comes in 4-16x magnification with a 50mm objective lens. Complete with high-grade optical glass, multi-coated lenses, and all still covered through the Burris Forever Warranty.

3. Burris AR Riflescope With C4 Wind MOA-5.56 Reticle

burris ar scopes

The Burris AR Riflescope is as it sounds, a great scope option for mounting to an AR platform. This is the only AR-specific riflescope that Burris makes. Offering models in both 5.56 and 7.62 Burris makes this 4.5-14 magnification scope with a C4 wind MOA. What is a C4 Wind MOA you ask?

The Burris C4 Wind MOA reticle is designed to assist shooters with making wind calculations quickly and efficiently. The C4 Wind MOA is a clean and simple design that works well with the elevation knob and WindMap provided with the burris scope upon purchase. The objective lens diameter is 42mm and the Burris AR weighs in at 18 ounces.

Developed for a serious AR shooter, the Burris AR is built tough from solid one-piece aluminum tubes and has internal double-spring tension assemblies. This scope can take a beating in the field and ask for more when you are through. Due to being built caliber specific, the Burris AR ships to you with custom knobs based on your 5.56 or 7.62 choice.

Great for tactical shooters, and recreational shooters who want to push their AR to the limit. The Burris AR comes standard with a threaded anti-reflective device helping conceal your position. Waterproof, shockproof, and fog-proof Burris makes all of their scopes durable and precise.

There is no need for holdover as the Burris AR automatically compensates for bullet drop when you dial in your yardage to target. Windage and elevation turrets are finger adjustable and the Burris AR is completely covered by the Burris Forever Warranty.

4. Burris 4.5x-14x-42mm Fullfield II

burris scopes reviews

The Fullfield series of scopes is how Burris got its start in 1975. This popular hunting series of scopes is now in its 46th year of manufacturing and the improvements in the Fullfield have kept up with the times.

The Fullfield II is small, but the compromise in size pays off with the 4.5 lower end magnification keeping a great wide field of view, allowing for quick target acquisition. The 14x magnification at the top end is a great magnification limit for a budget hunting burris scope. With an adjustable parallax focus, this scope also features the Burris patented Ballistic Plex reticle.

The Ballistic Plex reticle is a trajectory-compensating reticle lending itself well to hunting applications and the reticle can be matched with any caliber or bullet weight. Provided with high-quality glass, the lenses are coated in a Hi-Lume multi-coating which helps in low-light performance and glare elimination, which is expected in all burris hunting scopes.

The integrated eyepiece and power ring have a no-slip grip attached for quick adjustments in the field. Nitrogen-filled tubes allow for waterproof, shockproof, and fog-proof clarity. Built from a solid single-piece outer tube the Burris Fullfield II is made from steel and generates positive steel on steel feeling when adjusted.

I thoroughly enjoyed shooting this scope when I had a chance with a friend's hunting setup. For the price, there are not many hunting scopes on the market today that can beat the Fullfield II in quality for the price.

With a weight of 18 ounces and a length of 13 inches, Burris has learned from their 46 years in hunting scope manufacturing to make burris hunting scopes compact and lightweight. All adjustment knobs on the Fullfield II are capped to ensure zero retention while hiking through the brush. This is a great and affordable hunting option from Burris.

5. Burris Veracity Riflescope 5-25x50

Burris-Veracity-Riflescope

Another long-range Burris rifle scope in the magnification range of 5-25x. The Burris Veracity 5-25x50mm is designed to push the limits of long-range hunting. The Veracity is also extremely capable of being a long-range target and precision riflescope. It is perfect for varmint hunting and any long-range hunting where pinpoint accuracy is crucial.

The Veracity comes in three different reticle options. Ballistic Plex E1 FFP, Ballistic Plex E1 FFP Varmint, and SCR MOA. One thing I must say, in a side note here to the readers, is that I am impressed with the variation in reticle options Burris gives you no matter which scope you purchase from them.

The Veracity also has what is known as the MAD Knob option, which allows a shooter to convert their capped hunting knobs to exposed tactical-style knobs. Proving that this scope is great for both hunting and long-distance shooting.

This burris scope is not illuminated and has an objective lens diameter of 50mm. Utilizing the first focal plane design, the Veracity weighs in at 28.2 ounces and measures 16.4 inches in length.

The five times zoom system allows for faster target acquisition at further distances and a larger field of view at shorter distances. A full rotation on the turret of the Veracity is a full 15 MOA of adjustment, made of aluminum; this scope is waterproof, shockproof, and fog-proof. This security is achieved in part thanks to the Burris o-ring seal.

6. Burris RT-6 Riflescope 1-6x24mm

burris optics review

This Burris Optic pick is for all of my close-quarters combat readers out there. The Burris RT-6 is a purpose-driven scope built for speed and best utilized in three-gun competitions. This optic is race-inspired and built to handle tactical situations. Very fast and extremely accurate, it almost guarantees to remove time from your three-gun score.

Slightly shorter than the average 1-4x scope at 10.3 inches, the RT-6 is easier to handle and at the 1x setting has great open eye engagement. The RT-6 is also fitted with a ballistic AR mil-dot reticle that has trajectory compensation to 600 yards. Weighing in at 17.4 ounces this is the second lightest scope on our list.

With an objective lens size of 24mm this scope uses a second focal plane reticle and has an eye relief of 3.3-4 inches. Made of high-quality aluminum this scope is waterproof, shockproof, and fog-resistant. The glass lenses are coated in Hi-Lume multi-coating and the RT-6 comes equipped with a magnification throw lever.

The RT-6 also comes as a tactical kit offered by Burris for a couple hundred more dollars you can get the RT-6, FastFire 3, and the P.E.P.R. scope ring mount. Burris calls it their Close Quarters Tactical Kit. If you are a three-gun competitor the tactical kit may be something you want to look over.

7. Burris Scout Riflescope 2-7x32mm

burris optics reviews

Last and certainly not least is the Burris Scout Riflescope 2-7x32mm. The Scout Riflescope line was a concept developed by the legendary Col. Jeff Cooper (USMC). The scope was designed as a slim optic with low to medium magnification. The design allows for placement more forward on the rifle than normal.

Placing the scope forward allows for the shooter to keep both eyes on field targets while sitting or moving at full speed. This scope can be purchased through Amazon for a great price and is only offered in the ballistic plex reticle. The objective lens size on the Scout is 32mm and it weighs in at 13 ounces with a length of 9.7 inches which makes this the smallest and lightest burris scope on our list today.

High-grade optical glass is common with Burris Optics and so is being waterproof, shockproof, and fog-proof. Scout scopes require extremely long eye-relief and extreme durability. The eye relief on the Scout sits at 9.2-12 inches. The crosshair on the ballistic plex reticle is clear and crisp even when snapping to a target.

Made from aluminum, all adjustments on this scope are finger adjustable and have capped hunter-style knobs. Complete with the Burris Forever Warranty, you can take this to the field and have no worries about your scope keeping up.

I believe that Burris held to the Scout Rifle vision of Col. Jeff Cooper, for scout rifle scopes to be hard-working, simple, quick, and deadly accurate. This scope is great for hunting big game and having fun at the range.
